Abstract:
ChengXiang Zhai is a Professor of Computer Science and Willett Faculty Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he also holds a joint appointment at the Institute for Genomic Biology, Statistics, and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Professor Zhai Chengxiang received his Ph.D. in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in 2002. He is mainly engaged in the research of intelligent information systems, including information retrieval, data mining, natural language processing and its applications in biomedical, educational and scientific research tools. He has obtained the best paper awards in major academic conferences, 2004 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), SLOAN Research Award.
